Who We Are
Gospel Focused,
Christ Exalting,
Word Based,
& Spirit Driven.
We are a community of authentic followers of Jesus Christ who help others find life in Him. Our mission is to develop disciples who love God, love one another, and love the world.
Our Vision
Our heart at The Capital Church is to be a community of authentic followers of Christ that help others find life in Him.
Our Mission
Our mission is to make disciples of Jesus Christ who love God, love one another, and love the world.
Our Values
Values may be thought of as the fundamental beliefs that shape who we are and guide how we operate. There are many values that shape and guide us, but we find the following principles particularly formative for our fellowship.
Word Based
God has chosen to reveal himself to us in a myriad of ways. He demonstrates His glory in the beauty of creation. He reminds us of His love through tender relationships. He actively engages with people through the wooing grace of His Spirit. We affirm all those interactions and more. Nevertheless, we wouldn’t appropriately understand these things without God’s self-revelation in His Word. The scripture is the authoritative guide for everything the church believes and teaches.
Christ Exalting
We believe in the orthodox understanding that God is one in essence and that He eternally exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The revelation and work of this Trinitarian God is best understood through the revelation of Jesus Christ as the incarnate Son of God. The story of Jesus is the climax of the scripture. The bible is fundamental to our understanding of God, but Jesus Himself is the ultimate revelation of who God is, what He is like, and what He is doing in the world. Therefore, our community seeks to exalt Jesus in everything we do.
Gospel Focused
The Gospel can be defined as the availability of the kingdom of God in the present. The result of that is that we are forgiven, healed, restored, redeemed, made holy, declared righteous, and many other wonderful things elaborated in the New Testament. Saying we are Gospel focused is another way of saying that we are committed to the establishment of the kingdom of God in and through us and that we are a community that exists to facilitate transformation and discipleship.
Spirit Driven
TCC flows in the stream of the Pentecostal/Charismatic family of faith. The universal church may be compared with a large river of life-giving water. That river has many different streams that flow into it. We believe God created that diversity, and we cherish the uniqueness and contribution of our own tradition. The NT is filled with the present activity of the Spirit of God among His people. We believe in His empowering presence that guides and directs our transformation and our mission.
Leadership

Dr. Ryan Jackson
Senior Pastor
In 1995, Dr. Ryan Jackson received his BA in Religion and graduated summa cum laude as salutatorian of his class at Emmanuel College. He continued his studies at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Massachusetts where he won several scholarships and, in 1998, he received his Master of Divinity, graduating Magna Cum Laude. He received the Doctorate of Philosophy degree from Cambridge University in May 2009.
Ryan’s enthusiasm for learning is surpassed only by his passion about preaching. “I want to proclaim God’s Word in the power of His Spirit in a way that is applicable to people’s needs”, Ryan said. "The words written by the apostle Paul to Timothy, 'Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke, and encourage with great patience and careful instruction' – these words were burned into my soul when I accepted God’s call on my life to preach the Gospel. I am thankful God has given me great zeal for communicating His timeless truth. To this calling I have committed my life. I pray that I will always be found faithful."
He is married to Emily. They have three daughters, Liliann, Elianna, and Annabella.
