BELIEFS

Our Mission and Vision

The mission of The Capital Church is to be a community of authentic followers of Christ that help others find life in Him.

We do this through four Key Values:

To be Word based.

To be Jesus exalting.

To be Gospel focused.

To be Spirit driven.

These four Key Values drive the ministry of The Capital Church. To understand more about these Key Values, the Purpose of TCC, and God's promises for your life, we encourage everyone to go through the Growth Track. Click here to visit our Growth Track page.

What We Believe

In essential beliefs, we have Unity.

Ephesians 4:4-6

There is one Body and one Spirit...there is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, and one God and Father of us all.

In non-essential beliefs, we have Liberty.

Romans 14:1, 4, 12, 22

Accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on disputable matters...Who are you to judge someone else's servant? To his own master he stands or falls...So then each of us will give an account of himself to God...So whatever you believe about these things keep between yourself and God.

In all our beliefs, we show Love.

1 Corinthians 13:2

If I hold in my mind not only all human knowledge but also the very secrets of God, and if I have the faith that can move mountains - but have no love, I amount to nothing at all.

Nicene Creed

I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible.

And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all worlds; God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God; begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father, by whom all things were made.

Who, for us men and for our salvation, came down from heaven, and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary, and was made man; and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate; He suffered and was buried; and the third day He rose again, according to the Scriptures; and ascended into heaven, and sits on the right hand of the Father; and He shall come again, with glory, to judge the quick and the dead; whose kingdom shall have no end.

And I believe in the Holy Ghost, the Lord and Giver of Life; who proceeds from the Father and the Son; who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified; who spoke by the prophets.

And I believe in one holy catholic (universal) and apostolic Church. I acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins; and I look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.

The International Pentecostal Holiness Church

The Capital Church is a member of the International Pentecostal Holiness Church (IPHC) based in Oklahoma City, OK. The denomination is over 110 years old, establishing the first organized congregation bearing the name Pentecostal Holiness in Goldsboro, NC in 1898. Today, the IPHC has over 10,000 congregations and 3 million members worldwide.

The IPHC has a heritage based on the holiness and pentecostal traditions. Holiness is expressed in our intent to live a life separated unto God. We believe that when a person encounters salvation through Jesus Christ they are a new person. Their new relationship with Christ is reflected in their lifestyle, decisions, and priorities. Our pentecostal roots are reflected in the belief that the Holy Spirit will specially anoint believers with the ability to be a witness of God’s grace to the world around us.

For more information about the IPHC visit their website at iphc.org.
